This module is part of BANKSETA’s “Capacity Building for Employees” learning programme that aims to equip you with the critical competencies you need to survive and thrive in work and in life. The purpose of this module is to explore fully the construct of emotional agility with the aim of developing and improving one’s own emotional agility to thrive in an ever-changing work environment.

 In this module, you will be introduced to the concept and benefits of emotional agility. Concepts of emotional agility that we will explore include emotional resilience, self-awareness, utilisation of emotion and effective coping. We will also discuss the relevance of emotional agility within the workplace, present and future.

 You will be given the opportunity to complete an emotional agility quiz so that you can gauge your current level of emotional agility. Thereafter, factors that impact on emotional agility namely emotional intelligence, personality factors and level of emotional resilience will be discussed. Finally, we will focus on ways to strengthen your emotional agility.


At the end of this course, the learner should be able to:

  • Define emotional agility;
  • Explain emotional agility concepts and benefits;
  • Explain how emotional agility is essential within the current and future workplace;
  • Measure your current level of emotional agility;
  • Reflect on the significance of the results;
  • Describe factors which impact on emotional agility; and
  • Strengthen and improve emotional agility.

Assessments:

The module has a knowledge test at the end of the module.

 Accreditation:

This module is not accredited or aligned to any unit standards.

 Certification:

A Certificate of Successful Completion will be issued to the learner on successfully completing the knowledge test at the end of the module.

Classroom-Based: 1 day (10 notional hours of learning)

Distance/Online Learning:  1 – 2 hours
