Who Should Attend:
Anyone that wants to become a registered Debt Counsellor whom meets the entry requirements set out by the NCR.
Entry Requirements:
- Grade 12/matric certificate or NQF Level 4 qualification
- 18 years of age or older
- Minimum of two years working experience in any of the following fields: consumer protection, complaints resolution or consumer advisory services
- Experience in legal or paralegal services; accounting or financial services; education; training services; counselling of individuals; or general business environment
- A clean credit record and may not be working at a debt collection
Course Structure:
This course is available in a virtual learning format.
- Virtual-Learning: Training done in a virtual or simulated environment where the learner and the facilitator are in separate locations. Learners log into the virtual training platform according to the set training schedule and participates in a virtual classroom with the facilitator and other learners. Learners will be required to complete some learning activities in their own time.

Assessments:
Formative assessments are done throughout the learning process through learning activities and exercises. Final summative assessment is completed by means of:
- Practical Assignment (Weighed 25% of total mark)
- Online Examination (Weighted 75% of total mark)
Accreditation:
This programme recognised by the National Credit Regulator.
Certification:
Certification of learning achievement will be issued upon successful completion of the formal exam. A pass mark of 75% is required.
Duration:
Virtual Training: 3 training sessions of 3.5 hours each per week (18 sessions in total) with 38 hours of self-study and completing learning exercises over a period of 6 weeks.

Requirements for Virtual Training:
